The tradeoff: visual fidelity vs editability
Because each original page becomes one image, the text inside that image is not individually editable in PowerPoint. You can add new PowerPoint objects on top, but changing an original paragraph, chart label or PDF shape requires rebuilding or replacing that content.
Adobe Acrobat: editable conversion
